Villa Melzi d’Eril

Villa Melzi d'Eril in Bellagio: Colors Shine on Lake Como

On the shores of the lake, in the enchanting town of Bellagio, Villa Melzi d'Eril was built for Duke Francesco Melzi d'Eril and remains private to this day. Open to the public is the garden, adorned with tropical and exotic plants, sculptures, a Moorish temple, a Japanese pond, and the orangery.

The grandeur of the villa overlooking the lake presents a graceful image, standing out above the colors of the garden. The building, in neoclassical style, is elegant without embellishment, with clean and refined lines. The park, entrusted to great masters who had already created wonders in Monza Park, positioned trees in such a way as to appear native. The exotic corners, the Japanese pond, the basalt and marble statues that emerge along the path: all of this creates harmony within the gardens of the Bellagio villa.

In spring, a grand celebration of colors: the blooms of azaleas and rhododendrons bring to life a profusion of colors across the lawns and slopes throughout the park. Concluding the path is a charming small chapel on the edge of the lake.
