Villa Bernasconi
Villa Bernasconi: the exuberant "house that speaks" in Art Nouveau style
Villa Bernasconi in Cernobbio is a new concept of museum that emotionally engages visitors, transforming them into "guests." The Museum is indeed a "house that speaks" and tells in first person its own story and that of the people who lived there, starting with the first owner Davide Bernasconi, an enlightened entrepreneur and founder of the eponymous Silk Weaving Mills active from the late 1800s to 1971.
In this house you can move freely through a modern, multisensory, innovative and interactive cultural experience, among historical documents and multimedia content that will have you peeking into drawers or answering the telephone.
Villa Bernasconi, which with its exuberant Art Nouveau style was already an example of "modernity" for the era in which it was built, is today a welcoming place where the relationship between past and present is brought up to date with messages of innovation and dynamism, with attention to fashion, design and contemporary art.
