Val Bodengo
Into the heart of the mountains, challenging the force of water
Canyoning, also known as canyoneering, is a sport that is part aquatic and part mountaineering: it involves following the course of small mountain streams enclosed between high rock walls, overcoming obstacles along the way with the assistance of expert guides. Canyoning is ideal for safe enjoyment while testing your limits.
The valley around Lake Como most popular for this discipline is undoubtedly Val Bodengo, located in the northernmost area of the territory. Val Bodengo offers 4 canyoning routes of increasing difficulty.
The basic canyoning route in Val Bodengo north of Lake Como lasts approximately half a day, featuring jumps, slides, waterfalls, rope work, and dives into crystal-clear waters. It is located at the beginning of the valley. The subsequent levels correspond to the upper areas of the valley, up to the most challenging one, marked as expert level, which lasts an entire day with a one-hour approach on foot ascending the path alongside the stream. The increasing difficulty of the routes should not be underestimated: always consult with your accompanying guide. Pay particular attention to warnings regarding physical condition: choosing a lower level is better to ensure maximum enjoyment!
Canyoning is a sport between rock and water: you don't need to be an expert climber, but you must know how to swim! Canyoning in Val Bodengo can be done primarily during the warm season: always verify with your guide whether conditions are suitable for the excursion.
Fun is guaranteed with maximum safety. Each route is always accompanied by a Mountain Guide specialized in Canyoning: always follow the instructions, especially when facing jumps, dives, slides, and waterfalls. Complete equipment for the excursion and a wetsuit will be provided for each trip. It is an enjoyable activity for younger participants as well: the easiest route is suitable for children starting from 10 years old.
