Monte Cornizzolo
Cornizzolo, the mountain overlooking the plain
Monte Cornizzolo is a mountain in the Western Lombard Prealps. It is the mountain that welcomes you, almost blocking the way, when coming from Milan. A destination for hikers and cyclists, it offers a spectacular view of Brianza, the small Brianza lakes looking south, and Valmadrera and Lecco when looking west from the summit.
It can be reached from the Valmadrera side, from Eupilio, and from Valbrona.
All routes are at hiking level, partially shaded and completely panoramic. The network of trails makes this small mountain very popular, both with hikers and mountain biking enthusiasts.
The views from this mountain are breathtaking: it is said that on windy days you can see a dazzling light in the distance, right to the south; it is said to be the sunlight making the Madonnina shine, comfortable and commanding from her home in Milan.
The Larian Triangle Ridge: from Como to Bellagio through the woods and valleys of the Lake
This is a beautiful 2-day route that crosses the Larian Triangle, the area between the two branches of Lake Como and the southern hilly area between Como and Lecco.
The starting point of the route is Brunate, reachable from Como by the characteristic funicular; the arrival point is Bellagio. The trail runs almost entirely on cart tracks, agricultural and forest roads, and easy trails completely free of difficulty. The panoramic interest is exceptional.
