Lake Pusiano

The mirror of the Brianza hills with a green emerald at its center

The small Lake Pusiano, which takes its name from the town of the same name on its shores, offers one of the most beautiful natural spectacles in all of Brianza, whether observed from above, climbing along Mount Cornizzolo, which overlooks it from the north, or viewed from the shores that still retain their natural appearance, with the characteristic succession of woods and reed beds.

Lake Pusiano is the only one of the Brianza lakes to have an island: the Isola dei Cipressi. It is a natural hill enhanced in the Middle Ages by two large walls that circumscribe the summit, forming a small plateau. Privately owned, it can only be visited through organized excursions.

Lake Pusiano is suitable for swimming, but its peculiarity is its flat water: this type of basin, with very little influence from winds and surface currents, makes it the perfect training ground for rowing specialists. In fact, the Rowing Center, an international hub for this discipline, is located here, along with local sports associations.

Lake Pusiano is also well known to anglers for sport fishing for carp: Lake Pusiano boasts prestigious records for the weight and size of its inhabitants!

Finally, those who wish to admire the beauty of the lake and the charm of the surrounding landscape directly from its waters can do so aboard the boats departing from Bosisio Parini or Pusiano, which also include a visit to the aforementioned Isola dei Cipressi.
