Lake Piano

A natural oasis between two lakes

The Lake Piano Nature Reserve is located in Val Menaggio between Lake Como and Lake Lugano.
The small fish-rich lake, with its occasionally jagged shores, is best admired during the warmer months, when water lilies cover it almost entirely. It becomes magical and almost spectral in winter, when the entire environment takes on shades of gray and the lake's surface freezes over.

It is a pleasant stop for an excursion in the area around Porlezza, just before relaxing in the mild temperatures that characterize this area. In winter, the environment completely changes its appearance: the frozen surface is smooth and polished, although skating is not possible. Everything becomes still and nature transforms: it is the magic of winter on Lake Como.
