Lake Annone

The lake nearly divided in half, just a short distance from Lecco and the Lario

Lake Annone, just a step away from Lecco and Lake Como, is the largest of the Brianza lakes. The main characteristic of Lake Annone is the presence of a peninsula, called the Isella Peninsula, which creates a narrow channel that cuts the lake in half. In ancient times, it was believed that a Roman bridge existed here that would have joined the two peninsulas, allowing for a major thoroughfare between Lecco and Como.

Lake Annone lies at the foot of Mount Barro and Mount Cornizzolo: by climbing these mountains, one can admire the beauty of this lake and its unique shape.
A pleasant walk extends around Lake Annone, alternating between flat stretches along the lakeshore and gentle climbs through the woods and small villages that dot its shores. These itineraries, which cover the entire perimeter of the lake, can be enjoyed year-round, either on foot or by bicycle, and are particularly suitable for excursions and dog walking, provided they are kept on a leash.

In the flat areas along the shores of Lake Annone, there are equipped picnic areas. From Annone Brianza and Oggiono, it is possible to set out to discover Lake Annone by canoe: cars can be left in large parking lots and equipment can be rented at specialized centers. Motorboats are not permitted anywhere on Lake Annone, while fishing is allowed.
To fish on Lake Annone, please check the designated areas for this sport and the validity of your license. There are several notable points of interest around Lake Annone: the Stendhal sports center in Oggiono and the Lecco Golf Club, the only golfing facility in the Lecco area.
