Grigne

Rugged and imposing ridges for a unique trekking experience

The Grigne Group is probably the most famous group of the Lombard Prealps and with its unmistakable silhouette dominates the Lecco landscape of Lake Como.
Within the group, the Northern Grigna, commonly called Grignone, and the Southern Grigna, known as Grignetta, stand out.

The former, decidedly less rugged, offers various hiking possibilities, all with a splendid view from the summit over the central and western part of the Alpine arc.
Reachable from the lakeside starting from Mandello del Lario, or more conveniently from Valsassina, the Northern Grigna is also a very popular skiing destination.

The Grignetta is very famous for its magnificent natural environment, excellent network of trails that allows for unforgettable excursions, and numerous climbing routes. The terrain is very steep, furrowed by deep gullies and dotted with dozens of rock formations, spires, and towers. Particularly pleasant are the short excursions to Piani Resinelli.

Hospitality and good food are always available in the mountain huts and restaurants, some reachable directly by car such as those at Piani Resinelli, others located at the end of more or less short and challenging excursions, ideal for a restorative break.
