Cycling Tourism on Lake Como: 3 Ideas for Cycling Around

Lake Como is a territory waiting to be discovered: through the hilly landscape of Brianza, passing through the wild valleys of Valsassina, reaching the peaks of the Larian mountains. We suggest three itineraries to inspire your desire to explore in a slow way and in contact with nature.

Valsassina Cycle Path
An itinerary that allows you to cycle in complete tranquility, ideal for the whole family, on a specially designed route that offers views of the Valsassina mountains and reveals the most beautiful corners of this mountain area.
The path starts from Barzio, near the headquarters of the Mountain Community, and runs along the course of the Pioverna stream to Taceno for a total distance of approximately 13 km.

The Lakes of Garlate and Olginate
A "loop" route suitable for the whole family, surrounded by the peaks of Resegone, Monte Barro, Valle San Martino and Monte di Brianza. A fascinating encounter between the nature of the Adda valley and the history and culture of the surrounding villages. The itinerary starts from Lecco, taking the cycle and pedestrian path at Pescate to skirt the lakes of Garlate and Olginate; from here you reach Calolziocorte by crossing the Adda river via a recently renovated cycle and pedestrian bridge, and then return to Lecco, after passing through the municipality of Vercurago, for a total route of almost 20 km, mostly flat.

Adda Nord Park
For cycle tourists who, compared to the previous route, decide to continue beyond Olginate instead of crossing the Adda river at Calolziocorte, the itinerary extends for several kilometers along the west bank of the Adda river. A route that does not require particular physical preparation and is very pleasant thanks to the opportunity to admire magnificent views of the surrounding landscape and majestic works of engineering and industrial archaeology. From Olginate the route continues along an unpaved road away from traffic, passing through the towns of Brivio, Imbersago and Paderno d'Adda, with its majestic iron bridge, until reaching the outskirts of the province of Monza and Brianza for a total distance of almost 30 km.
