Ascend to Brunate and admire the city and Lake Como

Lake Como offers various opportunities to admire its breathtaking views in an alternative and impactful way. Among these, the excursion from Como to Brunate by funicular is one of the most scenic. The journey takes less than 7 minutes, with departures every 30 minutes.

The village of Brunate, the arrival point of the funicular, is a well-known small hamlet, thanks also to the numerous Art Nouveau villas built in this area. Furthermore, nature hiking trails depart from Brunate.

A highlight of Brunate is the Lighthouse, featuring a stunning viewpoint from which you can admire the historic center of Como, the Alps, and the Brianza plains. Once you have reached Brunate, you can choose to return to Como by funicular or descend with a relaxing walk through the woods. The funicular also operates in the evenings: on the warmest summer nights, reaching Brunate by funicular from Como is a pleasant alternative to a stroll along the lakefront, allowing you to admire Lake Como and its illuminated shores.
