5 Things to Do in the Green Land
The Green Land, between Lecco, Como and Milan, is a territory waiting to be discovered!
The Alta Brianza territory is rich in wonders, not only environmental and scenic, but it is also an economic and productive center, with excellence and traditions. Explore the neighborhoods, discover the parks and hidden natural heritage, let them enchant you with incredible views and be surprised by the popular and culinary traditions of this land. It is easily accessible by car or train from Como, Lecco, Monza and Milan. This particular location allows it to be a crossing point for those traveling from East to West in the Lake Como area, but also for those reaching Bellagio, Tremezzo or other wonderful places.
Paragliding from Monte Cornizzolo
If you want to have fun between air and gravity, tandem paragliding or hang gliding is the ideal solution for an exciting activity during your Lake Como vacation! The Aeroclub Monte Cornizzolo organizes tandem flights, gliding gently over the plains at the foot of the mountain itself, offering you unique and breathtaking views of the Green Land.
Baggero Oasis
Finding an oasis in the desert is such a rare event that it often turns out to be just a mirage. The Baggero Oasis is instead a concrete reality, a successful example of human intervention aimed at repairing its own mistakes. Where two beautiful lakes now stand side by side, excavators and heavy machinery once worked to extract stone for construction. A virtuous example of how the territory can be transformed to create small corners of paradise!
Lake Pusiano and Isola dei Cipressi
The small Lake Pusiano, which takes its name from the town of the same name located on its shores, offers one of the most beautiful natural spectacles in all of Brianza, whether observed from above, climbing along Monte Cornizzolo, which overlooks it from the north, or viewed from the shores that still preserve their natural appearance, with the characteristic succession of woods and reed beds. Lake Pusiano is the only one of the Brianza lakes to have an island: the Isola dei Cipressi.
Relaxation with Golf
An authentic piece of history, the Circolo Golf Villa d'Este, founded in 1926, is one of the most prestigious courses in Italy, and every year hosts internationally renowned competitions. An 18-hole course in the heart of the Green Land, on the hills surrounding Lake Montorfano, the Club has also been awarded the Gold Star of Sporting Merit. Immersed in an enchanting park, a round on this green should be endless, to fully enjoy the peace and grace of these places to the very end.
Villa Sormani and Tenuta Pomelasca
Count Alessandro Sormani, in love with the style of the noble residences of Provence, wanted his villa in Lurago d'Erba to be built according to that precise architectural style. Villa Sormani and its gardens were completed in 1783 in an elevated position, so as to overlook the Tenuta Pomelasca on one side and the rest of Lurago d'Erba on the other. The Pomelasca locality consists of the lands owned by the noble Sormani family: it includes the delightful red chapel, where the remains of some illustrious family members are preserved, the estate and the villa where the family resided, and the farmhouses whose products served the entire area, scattered here and there in the vast rolling countryside.
