Menaggio: Be Enchanted by the Hospitality of Lake Como
Menaggio is situated on the western shore of Lake Como, strategically positioned between Como, Sondrio, and Lugano. It has many facets: an elegant one, thanks to the magnificent hotels and villas dotting the lakeshore; a green one, with hiking itineraries and trails starting from the town; and a historical one, featuring the remains of forts and trenches used during the war. Val Sanagra Park
Just above the town of Menaggio lies the splendid Val Sanagra Park.
An environment composed of mosaics of woods, meadows, and alpine pastures, carved by the Sanagra River and shaped by the ice of the last glaciation. Numerous hiking trails are marked throughout the Park. At Villa Camozzi in Codogna, you will find the Val Sanagra Natural History and Ethnographic Museum with rooms dedicated to the flora, fauna, and fossils of the Park.
Lake Piano
The Lake Piano Nature Reserve is located in Val Menaggio between Lake Como and Lake Lugano. The small fish-filled lake, with its occasionally jagged shores, is best admired during the warm season, when water lilies cover it almost entirely. It becomes magical and almost spectral in winter, when the entire environment is dressed in shades of gray and the lake's surface freezes over.
Monte Grona Via Ferrata
A beautiful via ferrata is the one leading to the summit of Monte Grona, above the Menaggio refuge. From its peak, you can admire one of the finest panoramas of the Prealps; in addition to Lake Como, Lake Lugano, and Lake Piano, you can recognize nearby peaks such as the Grigne, Monte Legnone, and the distinctive shape of the Corni di Canzo. On the clearest days, you can glimpse the major peaks of the Alpine arc, from Monviso to Bernina.
Lido di Menaggio

Villa Mylius Vigoni
This villa is located in Loveno, a hamlet of Menaggio, and is a splendid nineteenth-century residence with an enchanting view of Lake Como. The park surrounding the villa is equally spectacular, representing one of the most intact examples of a romantic garden still preserved in Lombardy.
