Visit the most famous location on Lake Como!

Tremezzina is a town composed by several small villages; it lies on the western shore of Lake Como, in front of Bellagio and Isola Comacina. It is a beautiful town, thanks to its famous villas, gardens and wonderful views above the lake and Isola Comacina. The most important attractions are Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello but also the territory is rich of Romanesque churches and chapels. You can easily reach Tremezzina from Como, and it is close to Menaggio and the valley that brings you to Lugano and Switzerland.

Villa Balbianello
Villa Balbianello is one of the most known villas in the world, a jewel on Lake Como. It has also been Star Wars Episode II: The Clone Wars setting, hosting the big terrace where Anakin Skywalker proposed to his beloved princess Padmè Amidala. The atmosphere in the Villa is so unique and magic that any kind of wedding there will be the best possible, enjoying the best day of your life along with your close friends and relatives.

Villa Carlotta
Villa Carlotta’s great botanical garden and rich old parlors full of art masterpieces await for you! The impressive but sober Villa, looking down Lake Como from a vantage point, hosts fine art, like Canova, Thorvaldsen and Hayez works. Sacro Monte di Ossuccio
Laying on Lake Como west side, Sacro Monte Ossuccio (Holy Mountain Ossuccio) by itself is a beautiful place. But its relevance comes from the religious site on the back of Ossucio town, just in front of Comacina island. If you’d like to take a marvellous and easy walk on one of the nine Holy Mountains, part of UNESCO’s heritage of humanity since 2003, look no further. You won’t regret it!

Greenway del Lario
The Greenway of Lake Como is a leisurely and pleasant walk following traces of the Antica Strada Regina, the antique connection road built by the Romans. This 10 km long itinerary leads through ancient villages with wonderful examples of architecture, along villas and gardens and offers charming views. It follows an ancient itinerary, so it is possible to walk along the path in only one excursion, or get the trail in different points and explore the Greenway in few days.

San Giovanni Fest
Sagra di San Giovanni, celebrated every year on the last weekend of June on Lake Como, is the beginning of the summer on Lake Como. Connected to the history of Isola Comacina and the territory of Lario, it reenacts the assault to the island during the period of the battles with Barbarossa.
Today the reenactment is only a show, with fireworks enlighten the sky above Lake Como. The fireworks on Lake Como reenacts the blaze in 1169 made by Como people with Frederick Barbarossa, against Milano. Now it is an amazing show to watch from the shore or from a boat in the water.
